Mesh, Automattic’s Personal CRM for Everyone, Expands to Android

Mesh, the personal relationship manager and CRM acquired by Automattic—WordPress.com's parent company—last year, is now available to Android users. The platform enables individuals to privately visualize and track the people in their personal and professional networks, add notes to contact details, and receive reminders to stay in touch.

Android-Specific Enhancements

On Android, Mesh has been tailored to leverage key platform features, including split-screen and pop-up views. This integration allows users to access Mesh while working in other applications, such as messaging or email. The app also supports keyboard shortcuts optimized for foldables and tablets, in-app search, home screen widgets that adopt Material You colors to match the device's wallpaper, and real-time synchronization across devices.

Integration with Beeper and Future AI Plans

Automattic's broader vision for Mesh may eventually tie the platform more closely to Beeper, its all-in-one messaging app that connects users across multiple platforms—including WhatsApp, Instagram, Signal, Messenger, X, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, and Google Messages. Currently, Mesh and Beeper already interoperate to a degree: Mesh users can draft texts in Beeper or click deep links to visit a Mesh user's profile.

Looking ahead, the company intends to introduce additional AI-driven features aimed at enhancing productivity for users of both products in managing their personal relationships. As Mesh co-founder Zachary Hamed told TechCrunch in an interview earlier this spring, “We're thinking a lot about how AI can help you be a better friend and have better work and personal relationships.” He further noted, “We have users who have ten-, twenty-, or fifty-thousand connections across multiple social media apps and work products. It's an impossible task to think and be conscientious with each of those people by yourself.”

With the Android rollout in 2026, Mesh is making significant strides toward becoming a universal CRM tool, though its success will likely depend on how seamlessly it integrates with Beeper and how effectively its AI features address the challenges of maintaining large networks in an increasingly connected world.
