Repairing the iPhone Duo's Folding Screen Costs as Much as a New iPhone
If you don't have AppleCare Plus for your iPhone Duo, you'll have to shell out $999 for an inner screen repair.
In 2026, as foldable phones become more mainstream, Apple's entry into the market with the iPhone Duo has generated significant buzz. However, potential buyers should be aware of the steep repair costs associated with the device's innovative folding display.
According to recent reports, replacing the inner screen of the iPhone Duo without AppleCare Plus coverage will set you back $999. This price point is equivalent to purchasing a brand-new iPhone, making it a considerable expense for those who opt out of the extended warranty.
The high cost underscores the complexity of foldable screen technology and the importance of protecting your investment. For users who frequently use their device, AppleCare Plus may be a worthwhile addition to mitigate potential repair bills.
As the market for foldable devices continues to evolve in 2026, consumers are advised to weigh the long-term costs of ownership, including repairs, when considering a purchase. Apple has not yet commented on whether these repair prices will adjust as the technology matures.
