Apple Refuses to Enable ‘Restricted Mode’ for Missed Lease Payments
Apple has confirmed that it will not activate any form of “restricted mode” on devices in the event of missed lease payments. In a statement, the company emphasized: “There will be no limitations put on device functionality due to missed payments.”

By 2026, Apple’s position appears firm: even if a customer falls behind on payments, the device itself will remain fully operational, with no software-enforced restrictions or performance throttling.
