Meta Quietly Launches ‘Pocket,’ a Vibe-Coded Gaming App Powered by AI

Meta has quietly entered the AI gaming space with the launch of Pocket, a new app that lets users create small, interactive apps and games simply by typing AI prompts. The app is the result of Meta’s acquisition earlier this year of the team behind Gizmo, a popular vibe-coded gaming platform. Pocket describes itself as “a creative platform for making and sharing gizmos”—the term used for its interactive experiences—and features a scrollable feed where users can play with creations from others.

Based on screenshots from the Google Play listing, Pocket bears strong similarities to Gizmo’s original app, which remains available on the Play Store. Like Gizmo, Pocket uses written AI prompts to generate bite-sized interactive content and includes a discovery feed for browsing.

The app was first spotted by Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer known for uncovering new apps and features. He shared a Play Store screenshot on X, noting the launch. According to app intelligence firm Appfigures, Pocket was initially released on June 29, 2026, on both the App Store and Google Play. However, due to its recent debut, the firm could not yet determine download numbers.

The discovery was also reported by Business Insider and Investing.com. Meta has not yet responded to requests for comment.

Pocket is the latest example of Meta’s broader push to make AI creation tools more accessible. The company previously launched Meta AI, which generates images via its AI app, and Vibes, a standalone app for creating AI-generated short-form videos. Meta has also integrated AI features across its family of social platforms and into its creator-focused video-editing tool, Edits.

As of mid-2026, the AI-powered “vibe coding” trend—where users generate functional apps from natural language prompts—continues to gain traction. Pocket positions Meta to compete with other generative AI platforms while offering a lightweight, social experience for casual creators.
