Apple's HomePod Mini 2 Now Available for Preorder
Featuring an upgraded chip, enhanced Siri AI, and expanded connectivity with your Apple devices.
Apple has opened preorders for its second-generation HomePod Mini, the compact smart speaker that has become a staple of the company's smart home lineup. The HomePod Mini 2 arrives with a faster processor, deeper Siri integration, and a broader set of ways to connect with the wider Apple ecosystem.
A Faster Chip for Smarter Performance
At the heart of the new HomePod Mini 2 is an upgraded chip that delivers snappier responsiveness and more efficient on-device processing. This improvement lays the groundwork for more advanced computational audio and faster handoff between Apple devices — a key feature for users who move between iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV throughout the day.
Siri Gets an AI Boost
The most significant upgrade is in Siri. The HomePod Mini 2 benefits from Apple's latest AI-driven enhancements to its voice assistant, resulting in more natural conversations, improved contextual understanding, and better handling of multi-step requests. Whether you're setting reminders, controlling smart home accessories, or asking for a quick summary of your day, Siri on the HomePod Mini 2 is noticeably more capable than its predecessor.
Deeper Integration with Apple Gear
The HomePod Mini 2 also expands the ways it connects with other Apple products. Improved Handoff, enhanced intercom features, and tighter integration with Apple TV and HomeKit make it a more seamless hub for your smart home. The device continues to support stereo pairing, multi-room audio, and the U1 ultra-wideband chip for precise device-to-device handoff.
Availability
The HomePod Mini 2 is available to preorder now, with shipping expected to begin in the coming weeks. Pricing and color options have been detailed on Apple's official website.
For anyone already invested in the Apple ecosystem, the HomePod Mini 2 represents a meaningful step forward in both hardware and intelligence — a small speaker with a significantly smarter brain.
