Amazon's fall Prime Day event β officially branded as Prime Big Deal Days β has become a fixture of the October shopping calendar. In 2026, the two-day event returns with steep discounts across Amazon's own devices, plus a wide range of tech, smart home gear, and everyday essentials from third-party brands.
As with any major sales event, the volume of deals can be overwhelming, and not every "discount" is worth your attention. The Verge's team is tracking the offers in real time and rounding up only the ones that genuinely stand out β whether because of a true price drop, a rare markdown on a product we already recommend, or a bundle that adds real value.
What to expect from Prime Big Deal Days 2026
Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon's October counterpart to its summer Prime Day. The event is exclusive to Prime members and typically runs for 48 hours, with new deals rolling out throughout the sale window.
Key categories to watch include:
- Amazon devices: Echo speakers, Fire TV sticks, Kindle e-readers, and Eero mesh routers are usually among the deepest discounts.
- Headphones and audio: Noise-canceling headphones and earbuds from Bose, Sony, and Apple frequently hit new lows.
- Smart home: Robot vacuums, video doorbells, and smart lighting are perennial bestsellers during the event.
- Laptops, tablets, and monitors: Look for discounts on MacBooks, iPads, and productivity peripherals.
- Everyday tech: SSDs, chargers, power banks, and streaming devices round out the mix.
How to tell a real deal from a fake one
A big percentage off only means something if the "original" price is real. Before buying, we recommend checking price history tools like CamelCamelCamel or Keepa to confirm that the current price is actually lower than it's been in recent months. We also flag products we've reviewed or tested, so you know the discount isn't masking a mediocre product.
