Bessemer Venture Partners Closes $5.75 Billion in New Funds to Back AI From Seed to Growth
Bessemer Venture Partners announced on Wednesday that it has raised $5.75 billion across two new funds, aiming to accelerate its investment across every layer of the AI stack.
The firm, whose portfolio includes Anthropic, Cognition, Legora, Perplexity, Ramp, Shopify, and Waymo, has allocated $1.75 billion for seed and early-stage investing and the remaining $4 billion for growth-stage startups.
From SaaS Leader to AI-First Investor
Bessemer built its reputation as a leading VC in the SaaS era, with a particular talent for identifying enterprise winners such as Box, DocuSign, and Gainsight.
Since 2022, the firm has invested in more than 260 AI-native companies. To date, Bessemer says it has deployed $3 billion into AI-related startups, spanning compute, infrastructure, foundation models, developer tools, application-layer companies, and agentic technologies.
The firm now frames AI as the opportunity of a lifetime โ a familiar refrain in venture capital, at least until the next major technology wave arrives.
Why Bessemer Is Betting Big on AI in 2026
"AI-native companies are scaling faster than any category of technology we've backed before," said Bessemer Partner Byron Deeter in the firm's funding announcement.
Deeter also told Bloomberg that VC firms must keep expanding their war chests because companies staying private longer has become "a permanent structural shift."
As of 2026, that shift is playing out across the market: AI-native startups are raising larger rounds, staying private well into later stages, and compressing the timeline from seed to scale in ways that traditional venture models were not designed for. Bessemer's split between early-stage and growth capital reflects that reality โ pairing conviction at the earliest stages with the firepower to follow winners further up the stack.
With $5.75 billion in fresh capital, Bessemer is positioning itself to remain a dominant force in AI investing โ from first check to final round.
