Acti Puts AI Agents Directly into Your Smartphone Keyboard

A new Singapore-based startup, Acti, unveiled its agentic keyboard for iOS and Android on Tuesday, aiming to integrate AI directly into the smartphone interface users interact with most: the keyboard. Unlike traditional predictive text tools, this keyboard can take actions on your behalf within apps like email, messaging, and social media, eliminating the need to switch between different applications to access AI assistance.

In an email interview, Acti founder and CEO Young Wang explained that current AI agents are limited by fragmented user context across separate apps. “Acti sits across all of them, which is why we can build a context layer that genuinely belongs to the user instead of the platform,” he said. This approach, he added, forms the foundation for the AI-agent era.

The launch reflects a broader shift in how consumers may engage with AI in 2026. Rather than forcing users to open dedicated chatbots, Acti embeds AI capabilities into existing interfaces, making assistance seamlessly accessible where they already type. This could be particularly timely as users increasingly demand frictionless, context-aware AI tools that respect their workflow.
